Kasabian Mini Festival in Ibiza ? Serge PizzornoAccording to the news blogs flying around this evening Serge Pizzorno let out to BBC Radio 6 Music that they are planning: “an enormous show in Ibiza this summer.

According to guitarist Serge Pizzorno, the gig could possibly turn into a mini-festival with a series of other acts coming along to support them, reported BBC Radio 6 Music.

The band added that they intended to use the show to take a holiday on the island - something they’re keen to do after playing the Ibiza Rocks event last year.

We’ll see what happens….

When we take a break from slaving over hot pc’s and monitors we love watching our local car park for some amusement…. This is how not to organise a car park….

If youve been on the island the last couple of days you’ll know the weather has been er… naff to say the least. Today it started to brighten up, and since the weather had been horrible we had forgotten about the sunset until we noticed that the sky wasn’t covered in dark foreboding clouds and it wasn’t chucking it down…

We are happy and proud to announce the launch of our new website – ibizaA-Z.com – which has been put together with the latest innovations on the internet.

The launch party will take place at the Brisa de la Mar restaurant on Cala Pada beach next Sunday, April 1st from 2 p.m.
The Lost Mountain Orchestra will be providing the live music and the restaurant serving the cooked food to your table on the beach, if you like…

The website is completely revolutionary, in that the navigation system works entirely on Google maps, making it multi-lingual.

The plan is to take the everyday ‘A-Z’ ~ (yellow pages) to the next logical level, so that it actually shows you on a map where the front door of the place is, that you’re seeking. The next step is to take you through the front door and give you a virtual tour – but one step at a time, eh? …

Amongst the many new things that it can already do: it can, for example, plot bus routes telling you what time the next bus passes your stop (and if you miss that one it’ll tell you the time of the one after that!).

Many thanks in anticipation, we look forward to seeing you at the party.

Ibiza A-Z.com

P.S. If you do plan to come, and wish to enjoy a meal with your music please call Nicole, who is arranging the bookings for the restaurant, in order to reserve a table – as they may have to arrange to cater for more as demand has already exceeded our expectations.
Her phone number is 636 417 724.

sandys.jpgArguably one of the oldest bars in the world? is having its reopening party next Saturday (31st March).

In the 60’s Playboy rated Sandys as one of the top 3 bars in Europe and in the top 10 in the world.. The clientele reads as a who’s who of anyone who was anyone: Denholm Elliott, Terry Thomas, Jon Pertwee, John Hurt, Nikki Lauda, Freddy Mercury & Queen, Woody Allen, Goldie Horn, John Gielgud, Fergie, Diana Rigg, Ursula Andress, Leslie Philips et al.

Possibly the best stocked bar in Santa Eularia, with five varieties of gin, nine rums and eight whiskies from which to choose. They also stock all of the ingredients for the finest cocktails in town.

Keep an eye out for their cocktail nights as those are the days when the fresh ingredients arrive.

Since Bambuddha’s is opening the same night we shall be starting at Sandys and then try and get a cab at some point to Bambuddha’s - assuming we haven’t had too many long island iced teas….. (which are fantastic)

Friday saw the opening party of the family run ‘Immer Blau’ chiringuito on the beach of Niu Blau, between Cala Pada and Mango’s just north of Santa Eulalia.
niublau1.jpgTheirs is always one of the first opening parties of the season and always attracts a big crowd, so turning up a few minutes late means a bit of a walk as the car park was so full that every car blocked in every other – it was as if they were planning an aerial photo shoot for a car manufacturer’s advert. However, as it turned out our timing was perfect, the paella was just ready to be served as we searched for a free table.
The audience comprised the usual suspects at this time of the year – predominantly other bar and restaurant owners discussing tactics and expectations for the imminent season, and planning their own opening parties.
niublau3.jpgThe sun was shining, the sea was calm and both the paella and the accompanying lubricants were free. Little wonder smiles abounded as each contemplated his imminent seasonal income stream. (more…)

An early starter for the season, we are pleased to announce the opening of La Cucina for their third season in the marina of Santa Eulalia.
This is a place worth checking out to discover the taste of a real Italian kitchen with a modern touch. All of the authentic dishes are prepared to order by Max, the owner and chef from Rome, using only fresh, top quality ingredients, many of which are imported.

Relax in their cosy corner restaurant, alongside Fairline and the Sunsea Bar, whilst enjoying large portions, fair prices and friendly Italian service and style, courtesy of Max and Alessandra. They always have fine Italian coffees, wines and liqueurs on offer to round off your dining experience.
