There are thousands of photos taken of Es Vedra but it’s not very often you see photos taken from Es Vedra itself, however Karen E. Robinson emailed us with her photos she took on Es Vedra - we are eternally grateful and are happy to plug her startup company www.genasun.com - especially given the nature of it which is all about energy saving.

Tonights Ibiza Rocks gig with The Streets - We have to say, nothing prepared us for the night - it was far better than we thought it would be - it was arguably the best gig so far this year. Once again we took far too many photos but in the past we’d been able to whittle it down - tonight I’ve had problems getting them down to 32 photos - there’s loads more i’d love to put up.

Mike Skinner got the audience to sit down and jump up twice, he got them to split in half so he could run to the end of the crowd and then crowd surf back to the stage, then at the end he told them to jump in the pool - which they duly did. Everyone we spoke to afterwards loved it - even the hardened VIP’s upstairs…

It was a brilliant gig.

boujisThe South Kensington members club in London, Boujis is hosting a party at Sol den Serra next Monday 25th August. The price? 140 euros for members and 170 euros for non-members - ouch!!!

Hoever the ticket does include champagne, vodka and Boujis signature cocktails. If you’re feeling rather flush you could go for a table for 10 for 2000 euros which includes bottle service and personal waitress…

We’ve been to Pikes breakfast club on sunday mornings for the past 2 weeks and have enjoyed them immensly so here’s a little photo round up.

Firstly though we would like to point out to anyone who watched the insidious TV programme that Living TV did last Thursday about Ibiza, Octavia Coates was NOT sacked by Tony Pike (contrary to the voiceover on the programme), is doing her job as normal and that no-one on the island who has any integrity is having anything to do with Living TV (i.e. everyone who lives here).

First up is a quick video we did of Kym Mazell being interviewed live on Sonica radio with Lenny Ibizarre dj’ing in the background.

The 3rd Butterfly bll will take place at Es Vive again this year on Weds 3rd October. This year they’ll be supporting the localcal childrens charity APNEEF.

With Ibiza Summer 2008 heading for its peak, its time once again to think Charity Fund Raising by way of the 3rd Annual Butterfly Ball.

This year, the organisers of the event (Jill Canney & Elena Sanchez) have, after careful consideration, chosen local Ibiza association for disabled children, APNEEF as the charity of choice, with all monies raised at The Butterfly Ball being donated to that particular worthy cause.

APNEEF attends nearly 100 local children with severe physical and mental disabilities and is in dire need of proper funding and support. So, lets help them, folks.

This year’s Ball will once again take place in Hotel Es Vive and donations are already coming in for auction by various well known personalities from the worlds of music, theatre, art and sport.
Whilst details on the event are currently being finalized, so far, so good - The Butterfly Ball is shaping up nicely and tickets will soon be on sale. The night will follow pretty much the same formula as last year with a few extras- champagne reception, dinner, auction, live acts, a bit of charidee karaoke, DJs and a bit of an all round knees up, and all for a great island cause (these kids really do need help)

Wanna Help?
All donations gratefully received! If you have something lurking round your house/office/garage that you think might raise a bob or two, let us know.

We are also looking for collaborators, sponsors and investors to help take this fundraiser to the next level. If you or your company would like to make a cash donation directly to APNEEF, that would also be very welcomed.

Volunteers wanted..we couldn’t do this without the help of the many generous individuals involved. Many hands make light work, both pre event and on the night itself.

Bums on Seats on the night of the event. Not only an excuse to dress up and dine out, The Butterfly Ball is shaping up to be another great night’s merriment and of course, to hammer it home, ‘all for a good cause’.

You wanna help? Help us spread the word: give us a mention in your magazine/newspaper - tell your friends - buy a ticket… ask your famous friend to donate something for auction… be there on the night… overall, support us, the Butterfly Ball and APNEEF..

Sorry we’re late with these but we stayed at Ibiza Rocks Hotel due to a family sibling 40th birthday and we’ve only just got back home…

After supporting the Arctic Monkeys last year, Reverend And The Makers headlined Ibiza Rocks this year. Matt Helders from the Arctic Monkeys did a DJ set and as is their want, (like last year), their management didn’t want any photos being taken of their precious commodity - so there are no photos of some bloke from the Arctic Monkeys…

However Jon McClure et al were more than accommodating. At one point he wanted one of the photographers camera to take a photo from the stage - sorry Isabel you sholuld’ve said yes - I was at the other end of the pit at the time otherwise we’d have a piccy from stage view…

Anyway - it was another good gig - plenty of beer and bog rolls flying around and I think i got a request played at the after party but I can’t quite remember…

sd ibizaWe can’t reveal who they are yet but if all goes to plan SD Eivissa are lining up another friendly against an extremely well-known European football team.

According to our source at SD Ibiza, they are playing Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan on August 23rd… However Inter are playing Roma in the Italian Super Cup on the 24th so it’s probably their “B” team - which would make sense as they played Barcelona’s B team yesterday…
