Pictures from Ibiza Airport after ETA bomb scare
Posted by: admin in bomb scare, eta, ibiza, ibiza airportAt lunchtime today, police detonated a suspicious small package with a controlled explosion after receiving a number of bomb warnings through the Gara newspaper. The airport was due to handle 40,000 passengers and 300 flights today. Although the Guardi had set up a road block just after San Jordi, the island has loads of little caminos so we went another route ….
Inside the airport it wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be, although we saw one flight come in about 4pm, all incoming flights on the board were delayed and by 5pm 90% of outbound flights were still delayed.
Impressive though was the immediate setting up of medcal facilities and the giving out of free water to everyone.
The last thing the island needs right now…..
