The council of Sant Antoni de Portmany enables this month of May, a Wi-Fi network in the area of Passeig de ses Fonts that allows free internet connection to all those who are in the area.

As it has done with other initiatives, the idea is to provide citizens and visitors of Sant Antoni access to the Internet, trying to create zones where people with their computers and portable devices can connect to navigate, communicate with friends, Families, teleworking, tc.

It must be remembered that last year already allotted access points, either through equipment available for free or through Wi-Fi, in the Municipal Library, Youth Information Center, or in the same units of municipal Passeig de la Mar.

The service will be available throughout the year, provide the user with an Internet connection, 10 MB free, just by restricting the use of programs downloaded and P2P file sharing.

Looks like San Antonio beat Santa Eulalia to it…

We had another airport run to do yesterday so we thought we’d investigate the brand new tunnel on the Ibiza to San Antonio road at San Rafael. For a year everyone has had to turn off the main 2 lane road and go through San Rafael village. The journey only took 20 minutes from the airport to the egg - but weve speeded it up so it only takes you 5 minutes - we wish!

We also tracked the actual route the car took, you can see the new road just outside the airport and new roundabouts on the ibiza - san an road and of course the route the new tunnel at San Rafael takes. Google map of the route:
