Radio holds a nostalgic niche in most of our memories, and rightly so, as the pre-cursor to the 8-track, the cassette, CD, TV, video, DVD and that "Johny come lately" the MP3.
In retrospect none of those initials carry the same swing that the advent of radio commanded.

However, being a foreigner abroad, it is easy to dismiss many of the local offerings within seconds at the twist of a knob, which can easily lead to a loss of interest and a search for the TV remote.
